This image originates from Kalamurina, a Wildlife Conservancy property nestled on the shores of Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre. It's a remarkable location where three significant rivers converge, providing sanctuary to various desert wildlife. In 2010, this spot witnessed the dramatic arrival of floodwaters from the north, as they began filling Lake Eyre.

Where the Thomson River merges with the lake, nature carves stunning water channels with graceful curves and sweeping lines. I've emphasised the landscape's shapes, shadows, colours, and textures in this artwork, striving to convey my deep passion for this extraordinary region.

My inspiration stems from the late, celebrated abstractionist John Olsen, whose work ignited my fascination with interpreting this landscape as abstract art. This piece is both a homage to his influence and a reflection of the timeless beauty of this meeting place, where nature's forces come together in a symphony of form and texture.
