The boab tree is undoubtedly one of the most dramatic Australian trees, especially when photographed at sunrise or sunset in silhouette. Derby floodplain, Western Australia. The boab tree is native to Australia, found in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. It is the only baobab species in Australia, with others native to Madagascar, mainland Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula.
