The Pandani, also known as the giant grass tree, is a unique plant that can only be found in Tasmania. It belongs to the Ericaceae family and is a dicotyledonous plant. The Pandani can be found throughout central, western, and southwest Tasmania. I first encountered it during a visit to Cradle Mountain when there was light snowfall in December. Cradle Mountain is one of my favourite places to enjoy the beauty of Australian botany.
