Arrente Country
Arrente Country AL6543
Extending more than 200 km west of Alice Springs, the West MacDonnell Ranges dominate the Northern Territory’s central range country. Great folds of sedimentary rock tower over arid spinifex plains separated by narrow valleys. Ancestral tributaries of the Todd and Finke Rivers have been carved through the multicoloured quartzite, clay, siltstone, and coal layers, leaving sheer-walled gaps in the ranges. This range, known as Tjorita to the Arrernte people, is a paradise for creative souls regardless of their chosen medium.
