The Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, the two most photographed Australian urban icons, are not just architectural marvels but also symbols of Australia's rich cultural heritage. The Sydney Opera House, designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, was formally opened on 20 October 1973. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, designed and built by the British firm Dorman Long and Co Ltd of Middlesbrough, opened in 1932.
