Watching this Western Grey Kangaroo Joey take its first run was beautiful. The mother had been run over on a Kangaroo Island back road, and the staff at Hansons Bay Wildlife Sanctuary had hand-raised the Joey. I was fortunate enough to have arrived just as the young Joey was given its first sense of freedom. You can almost see the joy on its face.
