The Queenslander II OC108534

For 27 years, I have owned and lived in a 124-year-old "Queenslander" in Paddington, Brisbane. These beautiful and efficient homes have been a part of my life and evoked a strong emotional connection. The typical Queenslander-style residence sets Brisbane's suburbs apart from other regional towns and capital cities in the southern states, although the style is also found in northern New South Wales. Queenslander-style homes were first built in the 1840s and are still constructed today. I often pass by a classic property near Maryvale on the southern Darling Downs, and each time I do, I take note of the changes in vegetation and the declining overall condition of the once-loved home.
