The River Murray is 2508 kilometres long, spanning New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Almost 2000 km is navigable, making it the third-longest navigable river on the planet, with only the Amazon and Nile rivers ahead. It was the subject of my second book, The River Murray from Source to Sea, with Journalist John Larkin, Published in 1983.
