The Daintree River is one of Australia's most easily accessible and striking river systems, bordered by a tropical rainforest. It is well-known for its rich birdlife and stunning scenery, and is partially bordered by Daintree National Park. Magpie geese, like all geese, when cover distances in a small flock may fly in a V formation to conserve energy by reducing wind resistance. This formation also helps the birds keep track of each other and facilitates communication and coordination. Interestingly, fighter pilots also use this formation for similar reasons.
