he glossy ibis is a nomadic bird that undertakes dispersal movements after breeding. The bird prefers freshwater or brackish wetlands with tall, dense stands of emergent vegetation and low trees or bushes. They feed in shallow water, and their diet is highly variable, depending on the season and availability of prey. The nest is usually a platform of twigs and vegetation laid between 3 to 4 eggs incubated by male and female birds. The young leave the nest after a week but continue to be fed for another 6 or 7 weeks before fledging in about 28 days. Glossy ibises often roost communally at night in large flocks with other species and can be found in mixed-species colonies when nesting.
