The little red flying fox hangs differently from other mainland species. The larger species depend on an arm's length apart, but the little red flying fox clumps together in groups of 20 or more animals on an individual branch. Here they are preparing to journey into the night, sometimes many kilometres, to find flower plants and fruits.
