A Platypus Connection WL244395
Freshwater creeks, rivers and dams in eastern Australia (from north Qld to SA) are the preferred waterways for the endearing platypus. The bill contains thousands of tiny “sensors” that detect invertebrates, fishes and frogs. Platypus are solitary and primarily nocturnal best seen at dawn and dusk foraging. They usually rest in a “camping burrow” when they are not grooming or feeding.
