Kookaburras are much beloved by Australians. Their distinctive laughter echoes through the air at dawn and dusk as they stake out their territory. I am fortunate enough to have four kookaburras that visit my garden every morning and evening, and I cherish the happiness they bring me each day. The kookaburra's name comes from the aboriginal name, “guuguuberra.”
