Mulga scrublands are found in many areas across arid Australia within the 250mm rainfaall belt but can extend to 400mm on nutrient-deficient soils. They have varied landforms, reddish in colour with tall shrubs that cast a little shadow and an understorey ranging from bare red surfaces to dense, low shrubs. Generally ignored by photographers and artists. However, I find these often silent, isolated wild places visually stimulating. This work is from central western Queensland near Middleton.
