Uluru is seen here framed by the iconic desert oaks. The lands are the traditional land of the Yankunytjatjara and Pitjantjatjara people, who are also the traditional owners of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. These people have their own language, which they pass on to their children. In their language, they refer to themselves as Anangu (pronounced arn-ung-oo), and they request that we also use this word while referring to them.
