The Pieman River is a significant perennial river located in the west coast region of Tasmania, Australia. In mid-year 2015, I captured a series of images titled 'Front Line' during a very special morning. The calm river, clear sky, thinning mist, and rising sun created the perfect conditions for capturing memorable images in this stunning wilderness. These images are symbolic to me as they represent a wilderness frontier currently under threat of development. The Tarkine Region is currently at the forefront of conservation efforts, battling mining claims to protect this unique area.
