A Fleeting Moment RLF02563

The Pieman River is an important perennial river located in the west coast region of Tasmania. This series of images, titled 'Front Line' (one through eight), was created one extraordinary morning in mid-year 2015. A becalmed river, a clear sky, a thinning mist and a rising sun were a perfect blend for creating a memorable series of images in a spectacular wild place. These images are symbolic for me of a wilderness frontier under considerable and current threat of development. The Tarkine Region is currently one of the nation's conservation front lines in a battle to save a unique region from mining claims.
