Kuku Yalanji Country I FW9330
The Mossman River originates under Devil's Thumb on the Mount Carbine Tableland in the Great Dividing Range. It then flows eastward through a deeply incised valley in the Mount Lewis Forest Reserve and runs through the Mossman Gorge, which is part of the Daintree National Park, a World Heritage Area. I personally believe that this gorge and the surrounding forests are among the most visually spectacular places in Australia. It's important to note that this area is the traditional country of the Kuku Yalanji people.
