CARNABY'S COCKATOO: AN ETHEREAL ENCOUNTER BI0861

Add to Cart Download
My encounter with a small flock of these birds at the far northern end of their recorded range in Western Australia's Kalbarri National Park was a thrilling experience. Most of the flock remained hidden on the ground in the scrub, but I was fortunate to spot this individual coming in to land in a spectacular ghost gum. The beauty of this individual, with its striking black plumage, was a stark reminder of the urgent need to protect these magnificent creatures from habitat loss from land clearing and development.
