The Pieman River is an essential perennial river located on the west coast of Tasmania, Australia. This series of images, titled 'Front Line' (prints one through 6), was created one extraordinary morning in mid-year 2015. The becalmed river, a clear sky, a thinning mist and a rising sun were perfect for creating a memorable series of images in a spectacular, wild place. These images symbolise a wilderness frontier under considerable and current threat of development. The Tarkine Region is one of the nation's conservation front lines in a battle to save a unique region from mining claims.
