The Coral Sea is home to a diverse range of marine life, including thousands of species of corals, fish and invertebrates. The reef's inhabitants come in a variety of stunning forms, colours, shapes, and textures. One such species is the powder blue surgeonfish, often seen in large, shimmering schools. These fish are active during the day, territorial, and aggressive towards other surgeonfish. When food is scarce, they may compete individually and use their surgeon's scalpel as a defensive weapon.
