The striking schooling bannerfish, also known as the false is a small marine butterflyfish that can grow up to 21 cm in length. It is native to the Indo-Pacific area and can be found in tropical, subtropical, and temperate waters. This fish prefers external reef slopes and channels and lives in large groups. Its diet mainly consists of zooplankton, and it is known to act as a cleaner fish, even for adult fish.
