Abstractions, montages, collages, and playful impressions of a wide range of content is the focus of this collection of works. While the many genres have a very definite place, inside my head, there is a just a little boy who loves his wide-ranging palet and simply loves to play. Nothing more and nothing less. This collection focuses more exclusively on the visual language of shape, form, colour and line to create compositions that may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the ‘real’ world. In the photography space, certainly in mine, some of these images have undergone radical enhancement to colour and texture and form, others may be abstract in their own right. The collection represents both interpretations of field experiences and subsequent playful rendering via digital computerised manipulation of those field encounters, or indeed a combination of both. Content in this gallery originates from wetlands, arid lands, woodlands, forests, oceans and reefs collected imagery over time and across every corner of the Australian continent on land, from the air and beneath the sea.
